I personally would never want a job were I relied on commission, the stress isn't worth it for me, but there are some who love it.
I say keep looking and don't apply for jobs that aren't on commission, health insurance is GREAT and important, but if you are going to have to pay bills you might want something more stable and or get a second job.
If it's inside sales, I'd take it until you can find something better. as a college grad, you could obviously be doing. Better, but sometimes you just have to wait for the right opportunity to come along. For the time being, it seems having this job would be better than nothing. Good luck!
Is it inside sales or outside sales? Do you stay at one location and people come to you to buy stuff (inside sales) or do you have to drive around to initiate sales contacts on people or make outgoing "cold" calls by phone. (outside sales). If it is inside sales, take it, keep applying for jobs vigorously and take the first better one that comes along. When you apply for jobs, people like to see you are already working. If it is outside sales, do not take it. Look at it another way. If it is inside sales, they let you go to their location, hang out, drink from their water, enjoy their heat or AC and pay you. You get out of your house, get to cut down your utilities, etc. Yah you are probably way overqualified but better things will come along.
Make it happen! It can be good enough pay if you are good at sales, but if you aren't confident enough I wouldn't take on the job.
If you aren't good at sales then don't take the job.
