What did young millionaires/billionaires do in high school?

Right now I'm a Junior in highschool. I hope to become very wealthy someday, and I set my goal to earn a good amount of wealth before I'm 30. I'll be grinding my way until I get there.

But I really feel as if I haven't done too much to get that goal. I'm doing well in school, I took the hardest classes I could and I'm working day and night to hopefully get a 2200+ on my SAT. As good as I'm striving to make my academics become, I feel as if I haven't done enough. Last year was a very unproductive year for me, as I was battling depression. I really regret not learning about many subjects, such as economics, investing, management, and that sort earlier. If I hadn't spent so much time playing video games back in elementary school I would've been a much more complete and fleshed out person by now.

For the people who reached such high success in life, especially when it comes to wealth, such as Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison), what did they do at around 17 that helped them reach where they are today? Of course, I'm not trying to emulate anything that they did, but they. along with the thousands of lesser known names, must have done something at my age to get them were they are today.

Any ideas on what I should/could be doing to reach those goals?

Thanks!

There are 2 groups of millionaires/billionaires. Those who grind their way up from the bottom, and those with lots of connections from their parents. Don't believe everything you read from the media because there are lots of "important" missing details. If you are fighting alone w/o connections, you will probably be an old man by the time you are super rich. My advice? Do get rich but don't spend your whole life chasing money. Make enough to live comfortably but do spend most of your time with friends and family. Like everything in life, too much of anything will often turn sour, including money.

Hmm, I'm not doing anything special but I am inheriting quite a large sum of money from my parents. Sorry for the cheesy answer but not quite sure what you're looking for.

They became Master of one field and not Jack of all things.

math, computers, robotics, and inventions (like a cure for Ebola - that is worth millions)
