URGENT! PayPal? Good or bad?

Does anyone use PayPal for a business? How does it work? Is it actually safe for both the customer and seller? Do they charge monthly/ yearly fee?

It's quite popular, one complaint is about the number of transactions on hold and under investigation, these probably involve fraud by one party of the other. It also may be possible for false claims from buyers to get a seller account shut down, which can really foul up a business. (I can't say if that is very common)

Paypal charges a simple 2.9% plus $0.30 USD from the payment receiver. There are no monthly account maintence fees.

Those are by the way, very close to the transaction fee for Credit Cards using a personal scanner like the Square for Mobil devices.

PayPal is great. The business sends an invoice through PayPal. The person pays with their credit card or checking account. PayPal takes their fee and puts the rest in the business' account. It's safe for everyone, there's no monthly or yearly fee, only when you use it.

If a business takes a lot of credit cards, then a merchant account is better, but otherwise PayPal is great.

Check out square.com too. I notice a lot of businesses are using that now. In fact, I went into three places in a row that used it.

Paypal is 100% safe, very awesome. I have used it for almost a decade, never had a problem with it. For a seller, yes you are charged. however there's two ways of how it can work, you can do a year payment from what I'm aware of or you can have it where paypal takes out a small percentage of the money you make from whatever you sell it's very little. For a buyer, it's free
