Least expensive way to ship LARGE item (piano)?

I am receiving the piano FREE, I just have to pay for delivery. It's a full 88 key piano (not a small keyboard). It's currently 508.86 miles away and would take 7 hours 11 mins to arrive by car.

How much would it cost to have it shipped via UPS?

That's not going to be cheap. It's going to take a good part of a truck load and it has to be property packed or it will arrive as junk. I would check with some music stores to find companies that they would use to ship something like this, you need someone who recognizes this isn't just something you throw in the back of a truck.

Gives a few of the considerations to identify even a cost estimate. Let's say it's going to start at $500 as a minimum and could be several times higher.

UPS wont shift a piano that is going to take more than one person dude, require its own van etc, and for 500 miles your looking at around $4 per mile. You would be better off buying a piano locally. OR hiring a uhaul truck and collecting it.

Find someone with the ability to move heavy objects. Its going to be more than the piano is worth.

too big for UPS - you will need a professional moving company that has experience moving pianos - it will probably cost you at least $1000-2000 to move it that far
