Do I rewrite a check?

So I got payed today from my fast food job but the check doesn't look like any other check from a check book. In order to do the mobile direct deposit with Bank of America do I need to rewrite the check on my checks and do it that way or do I have to go to a bank?

The only time a paycheck will look like a hand written check is if the company is very small and the place only has to write like five paychecks at a time.

If you work for a larger place it's going to be a printed check which will look a little different but all the same info will be there.

You deposit it the same way you would any other check. The Bank of America thing will work just fine if that's what you prefer to do. Do not write on it or alter it in any way, except to sign it where it tells you to on the back if required by the app to do that.

Just pay the check into your bank. An organisation won't have a check book like you or I do - can you imagine someone writing 800 checks each week for wages ? They will print the checks out on computer.

Just pay into your bank.

Rewriting the check makes no sense at all - you got paid say $200. You write yourself a check for $200. So that money comes out of your account and straight back into it. You aren't making any profit from it as such.

You want that $200 from your employer. Just pay the check in !

Just bring your check to the bank and they know how to do it no matter what it looks like. Since it come from a legit company, the looks and the way it is written is acknowledge by any banks.

Just take it to the bank and let them deal with it.

No, you don't write a check of your own. Your paycheck doesn't look like a check from a checkbook because it isn't......it's a computerized check. Go to the bank and ask an employee how to do a mobile direct deposit with the check they gave you.

OMG, you'd better get a crash course from someone on how bank accounts work!

Since you have not even a basic understanding if how checks & payment works talk to your parents. They should have discussed this with you before this time.

Just take it to the bank and let them deal with it.

Go to local bank and let them explain the process of depositing a payroll check.

first , you were paid , not payed ( there is no such word as payed ) and second you do not write the check , you deposit it

If you alter it then it is counterfeit and no longer valid and cashing it would be fraud . you sign the back and give it to the teller or deposit into an atm then wait for the check to clear , you are not doing any direct deposit - if you had direct deposit there would not be a check . the money would go directly from your employer to your bank account ( directly as in direct deposit )
