What does "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" mean?

I ordered British Sweets and other British goods, on Sunday. It is coming from New Hampshire.

Monday- 12:16 pm (Shipment information sent to FedEx)

4:00 pm (Picked up PORTSMOUTH, NH)

7:53 pm (Left FedEx origin facility PORTSMOUTH, NH)

Tuesday- 5:02 am (Arrived at FedEx location NEWARK, NJ)

12:40 pm (Departed FedEx location NEWARK, NJ)

Wednesday- 8:54 am (Arrived at FedEx location MEMPHIS, TN)

12:11 pm (In transit MEMPHIS, TN)

6:01 pm (Departed FedEx location MEMPHIS, TN)

Thursday (today)- 7:19 am (At local FedEx facility JACKSON, TN)

7:21 am (On FedEx vehicle for delivery JACKSON, TN)

So, if we less than an hour away from Jackson, TN about how long will it take for me to get my package? It is now 9:01 AM. On the FedEx website, it says "Estimated delivery: Thur 3/27/2014 by 8:00 pm"..but how would it take that long if it is less than an hour away? If you can't tell, I'm excited to get my sweets and other items since I haven't been to England since June. :)

Thanks, in advance! :)

They put your order on their truck this morning. Depending on when the fedex truck normally gets to your neighborhood, that's when you'll get it. So think back to when you see the truck and that's when you'll get it. The 8 pm is just their last delivery time, not necessarily when you'll get it.

If you requested to hold your package at a near by FedEx location instead of the normal delivery to your door step, then two things will happen on your tracking. One will be an exception, which means that something changed in the normal delivery and then you see (if you package arrived at the main facility but not your local facility) a message "On FedEx vehicle for delivery". In this case the package will be delivered to the local office where you have requested the hold. Once you get a message " Pick up for delivery, thats the time to go and pick up.

Delivery Statuses for FEDEX Parcels

Here you'll find the meaning of delivery messages from the FEDEX track & trace system. The following status messages may appear when you send a parcel with FEDEX.

Arrived at FedEx location

The package was scanned at the entrance of a FedEx facility. This status does not mean that the parcel has arrived at its final destination. The shipment can also be arrived at an intermediate station (e.g. cargo redistribution centre).

At destination sort facility

The parcel has arrived in the region of the recipient. The shipment has to be sorted in the FedEx facility once again prior to be delivered to the recipient.

At local FedEx facility

The parcel is kept in a FedEx cargo centre and will be processed soon.

Delivered

The package was delivered to the intended recipient or to a person within the same household.

Exception

The status exception means that an unexpected event is preventing delivery of your FedEx package. Some examples of status exceptions include a customs delay, no one to accept delivery of your package, holiday, missing documentation, etc. If you want more information about the status of your package, please call the Fedex Customer Service.

In Transit

If the tracking status of your shipment is >In Transit<, your parce is on its way to its final destination. It does not mean that your package is already in a delivery vehicle on the way to the recipient.

Left FedEx origin facility

This status means that your parcel has left the origin region is now on its way to the destination region. The package will probably go through a hub (big cargo centre) of the FedEx delivery network.

On FedEx vehicle for delivery

The parcel was loaded onto a FedEx van and it will be delivered today.

Picked up

The parcel was picked up by a FedEx delivery driver. The delivery driver stores the package in his vehicle. Unloading will be done in the evening at a FedEx facility.

Your package doesn't leave the Fedex facility and head straight for your house. There are other packages to be delivered besides yours. The best estimate is what they gave you on tracking.

Just be patient. Your getting your package today.
