Gulf coast educators federal credit union. A credit union is far superior to a bank. Their lending rates are lower, they only charge $6 a month for maintain your accounts. They do not charge for check coverage if you have a savings account that will cover it.
I also live in Reno for half of the year and can do business with the credit union just as I do by visiting the branch.
If you have access to a credit union, you'll find the fees lower. If not, look at local community banks. The megabanks will always screw you.
just check other banks and see if they have a no fee/low fee checking acct with a lower min bal requirement
I use Citi because they have the really cool temporary credit card generator and the branches/ATMs aren't impossible to find.
