Each job will have its own guidelines for using sick time or calling out. You can usually find the information in your employee handbook about information like that. Generally you can't call out for the first 3 months of working somewhere, but that time frame varies based on each company's policies.

Also, if he does fire you, you can file for unemployment.

You CAN get fired for calling off, but probably won't if this is your first time off in 5 months, even if it ends up being 2 days. good luck.

I am relatively new at my job, I have only been there 5 months. i've never had a sick day there until today.

The night before my tummy was upset and I had (sorry) diarrhoea and still have. I also feel generally unwell & sleep deprived as I was up all night.

I called my boss and tried to explain but he was furious - I could tell from his tone of voice and he hung up before I did.

I'm scared I can get fired for this? Also what if I'm still sick tomorrow and need another day?
