How do you think my restaurant would do?

Opening any new business takes a while to build up a regular customer base. You need to build a reputation to get them to come. You need to advertise the business, and probably provide incentives to get people to come and try your food. So you would need to maybe offer two for the price of one, or half price for the first week, or buy one, get a ticket for a free one later, or something like that. Initially you may only get a few customers a day. It's going to take quite a while to build up to the 100 a day you need, so you are going to need enough money to keep you going until you can start to make a profit. Most business advisers recommend having enough finances to cover all business expenses, plus a wage for yourself, for about two years. By that time, you will either be starting to show a profit, or you will know the business is not viable. Statistics show that up to 60% of new businesses fail within the first four years Food outlets such as restaurants have a failure rate of up to 80%

I'm not trying to scare you off. I am just giving you statistical facts that you need to take into consideration before you start.

Hire attractive waitresses in skimpy clothing and you'll do fine!

I live in a small town, population of about 10,000. It's a town on a stretch of highway that leads to several big cities so there's always people going through. We have the basic fast food places and a few mom and pop shops but as far as a decent sit down restaurant there aren't many, especially that stay open past 7 or are clean. I plan on opening a burger and beer joint along the stretch of highway, just our of town but close enough it wouldn't take more than 2 minutes to get to the middle of town. The location is perfect, placed among several stores, a hotel across the street and a few neighborhoods surrounding it. The lease is for $4800 a month. How much traffic do you think I would get through it daily? Do you think it would be enough to make the lease worth it? I would need at least to have 100 customers daily at $10 a ticket or the equivalent ($1000/day) to really make it worth doing. Opinions and advice are much needed and wanted.
