I am 19 years old and i really really want to work for myself it's always been a dream of mine. I never knew what i wanted to do for myself but the penny has finally dropped
Ive always loved baking and ive always been good at it, its very early days and of course i will have to practice first.
I already have all of the cake tins, palette knives etc. Problem is i cannot enrol in a cake making class near to me as the college closest who offers the course is 3 hours away i live in a tiny little village and 3 hours away is not something i would be able to do all the time.
I also want to teach myself and be proud of that, i already have my level 2 food hygeine certificate and my mum is more than happy for me to work in our kitchen and start working from home.
My main source of clients will be through face book, twitter and other social media accounts.
I want to make wedding cakes, birthday cakes, crafter cakes but also decorative cup cakes and sell them too.
My question is how much should i charge, ive no idea when it comes to pricing, what exact equipment will i need (incase ive missed anything and you have and other ideas) and where do i start?!
I know my kitchen will need inspecting and i will have to sign up with HRMC as self employed, i really dont want any patronizing answers im just trying to live my dream and stop working dead end jobs, i have no children or any set backs so im ready to listen, learn and get going!
