She should pay you, not the club. Cut a deal with your mom, leave the club out of it.
It doesn't matter what the deal is, as long as you're both comfortable with it (barter).
If your mom doesn't want you to be recompensed for your work, she can go back to the club and 'unvolunteer' your services. This is the only way you're going to make your mother respect your job.
Tough luck, do it yourself then, your website looks pretty OK as it is, I have a life. And go have a nice steak dinner with your girlfriend. You don't owe them anything and your mother needs a leash too.
let the bike club know what you have already found that needs to be corrected for their web site to be useful
let them know that you cannot do what has to be done without charging for the extensive work to be done
let them know that a 'quick fix' is not feasible unless they can find someone who will tweek it to their satisfaction
if this gets back to your mother and she has fits about it so be it, it is certainly more than any volunteer would be expected to do right
I would take the job but purposely take forever to get it done so they will be inclined to look for someone else...

My mother offered my services to her bike club and told them that I would be willing to look at their online website and help spice it up. Since I am a webmaster and do a lot of that stuff at work I don't mind...
However.. I told my mother that before I do it I would write up a contract and be paid for my services. She flipped out and told me that it wasn't a multi billion dollar business and that there would be no need for me to get paid.
I don't think any of them understand that I have a full time job.. Not interested in motorcycles at all... And never agreed in the first place to remake their website. To top it off... Their website just looks like a big wall of text and pictures and broken code is everywhere.. So it will take time to remake the whole thing and update pictures..
What should I do.. Or rather what would you do?
