With mailing a check it can take a few days just to get you, so even if it's pay day on the 15th there's no guarantees that your check will be there then. Direct deposits usually go in around midnight or so, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. I do direct deposit and like it a lot. I don't have to worry about picking my check up, going to the bank, putting it in. It's all done for me.

Many companies require their employees to use direct deposit to avoid the cost of printing and mailing checks. I would opt for that because Melissa is right.
