Yes. If you are really adventurous, check into sailing as a passenger on a freighter. They make a lot of stops in various ports so it takes a bit longer to get there than on a cruise line, but there are normally only a very few passengers so it is very quiet and relaxing. The rooms are not luxurious but are comfortable, and you do not share facilities with the crew. You might eat with the officers and not in a passenger dining area, but that is normally pretty good.

Laden freighters sit low in the water so they do not rock and sway as much as a tall, lightly laden passenger liner; if you are subject to motion sickness this is a real plus. It is quite an experience. I sailed this way once from Tampa FL to Germany back in the late 70's. Really enjoyed it.

that's what they did before planes were invented - it's a lot longer trip than by plane and probably just as expensive, since you are paying for a room and meals also
