What does "Arrived at USPS facility mean"?

My package says that it has arrived at the USPS facility. What does that mean? I've read online saying it's the closest USPS place but that's not the closest place that it could be? So confused. Tracking number: LN610892581CN

you have asked this Q many times !!!! read what usps tells you in the tracking info - "Your item arrived at our USPS facility in OAK CREEK, WI 53154 on December 24, 2014 at 4:40 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later"................the usps facility in oak creek is your local usps main station, where mail is brought into to be sorted out for the mail carriers to deliver; since your package arrived @ 440 am, it might be delivered to you today, depending on if the oak creek station is where your carrier gets the mail OR from a closer post office...........your package will be delivered on 12/24 OR 12/26/14 - have some patience, especially during their busy season..........hope you tip your mail carrier

Why are you confused? It "arrived at a USPS facility". That is exactly what it means. It arrived at a USPS facility. Packages aren't just heaped up on a truck and taken to their destination. There are hundreds of thousands of packages in the Postal System. They typically go from a local post office to a sorting facility. From that sorting facility they are either put on a truck for a local destination or put on a plane and flown halfway across the U.S. to another sorting facility. From that sorting facility they are flown to a more regional sorting facility. From that facility they are then put on a truck to be delivered to a local facility.

So, back to your question. Your package arrived at one of these sorting facilities and is on it's way to another USPS facility - either for further sorting or for delivery.

You shouldn't give out tracking numbers. People could potentially use them to redirect your delivery, although there are security policies in place to prevent this. Consider editing or deleting this question.

USPS updates don't always reflect the real-time conditions. It could be closer to you than the facility named, but at least you know it's that far.

Your package is at that post office or transfer station. It will get closer to you each step along the way.
