She is 66, will be 67 in October and live in California. I am so worried about her, if feel she needs to find a job soon for her income, I was almost in tears because I am so concern please give me advice, I did think she has enough till she is 90, this is what she told me.

I dont understand why you are upset if your mother is getting Social Security. That is a retiremnent benefit you get when you turn 66. Ev ery year the Congress decides if there will be a cost of living increase. It is only a few dollars. Her Social Security benefit is based on her lifetime earnings and the taxes she paid. The amount never changes. Maybe she has some pension from her employer. Did you ask her?
She got libraries where she lives
Plenty of books on how to make money and new life for her self.
Your worries are wasting energy.
She can visit AARP.com for months of learning.
She can collect unemployment benefits.
She can spend hours in bookstore /library reading about new jobs/careers to do next 10 - 15 yrs.
U can actually talk with her so she can explain Her plans for next 20 - 25 yrs.
Social security only increases enough yrly for a Good Night out.
