I'm 17 years old but I live away from home for college. I need to open a bank account. I tried to open one online with Bank of America but it says I need to go to a branch since I'm under 18. My parents live 6 hours away, do I have to have them with me in person? Or do I have to wait for something with a signature to mail back and forth?

Go online to Young Americans Bank, Denver CO. I believe they can open an account online.

I would say just go to any bank and talk to them about opening an account for yourself. They can guide you through what you need to do and if you need any parent help. Lots of banks, Like chase or pnc, have accounts for college students that work with them.

Call the bank & ask them.
