Mom can still see bank statements?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I made a highschool checking account 2 years ago when i was 16 and my mom was connected with my account so there wouldn't be any fees. But now that I'm 18 i want my mom to be disconnected from my account and she doesn't care either way anymore. But can i do this online or over the phone with chase?

Just open an new account in your name only and transfer the joint account money into it. It will probably require a trip to the bank but, no harm in calling them and asking to do it over the phone.

Your mom needs to remove herself from the account. Unfortunately, you can't do that.

Call your bank to see if she can do this over the phone or she has to go into the branch.

You can't "remove her." She would have to do that. Best to open a NEW account in your name only. Transfer any direct deposits or automatic debits. Then close the old account.

No, you have to go into the bank and change accounts.
