I think money is obsolete, because the cost of helping people outweighs the actual benefits. People are living in 100+ year old houses. We have the technology to make Eco-friendly houses, yet the cost of implementing them to every (U.S.) citizen would be too high for the U.S. to afford. My best example is deep space travel. We have the knowledge and theories to travel beyond Pluto, but the cost of research and development is so high, not even the entire world's money combined could afford it. (that's actually what it would take to create a teaspoon of the matter that would fuel space travel.)
I think money is evil, because we murder over it. It changes human nature. We need it to eat. People will do immoral things at the chance at a large sum of cash. (like fear factor) We depend on those who have lots of money to give us some via work. I see it as a form of slavery. "Dedicate your life to my company, and I will feed you. If I don't like your skills, I will find someone better." Once you get that job, You must compete. Compete to be better than the rest or compete with other's skills to keep your job. I don't like the idea. It just seems like a form of slavery. I am mainly talking about jobs that are like factory work or fast food. Jobs like teachers and doctors is sacrificing to help others.
Do YOU think money is or eventually will be obsolete? And do you think money is evil?
Money is definitely obsolete, and it has been such for quite some time now. You are right in what you say and believe. However, I disagree that money is evil, the human that does bad things is. Money by itself has no power, people give it power. Money only reveals any potential negative traits of the character of humans. It shows the peoples' "true colours", so what should change are the people themselves, money are not to blame. On the other hand, everything which happens in this world is not without a meaning, every situation takes place for a reason, so that the people can learn a valuable lesson. And people have to learn that money is a system no longer required, even more, it stops humanity from further progress. I do not mean technological progress, but human progress, spiritual progress.
Money is not to blame. Money is neutral, just an instrument of convenience. People would still steal and kill each other over a cow rather than a hundred bucks if there were no hundred bucks. Money just allows us to trade more conveniently, in partial lots. Pure barter would be a pain in the aass. I'll give you 63 of my carrots for 2/3 of your goat - like that.
We are living in economic dark ages. Just as the Dark Ages were 'dark' because a force, the Church, enforced its dogma, so the modern state enforces its economic dogma.
The economic 'renaissance' will only happen when capital is allowed to work as good as possible. It must be unrestrained. Then and only then can it be sustainable, and self-healing. Then and only then will it bring the price of helping people to a minimum.
Neither.
