All those things vvary so much even if you shop around for the best deals - based on an average wage I`d estimate a minimum of $1500 a months just to do the bills alone.
Apartment costs vary by location. I would say you can get a decent apartment for 600$ or less (again, highly dependent upon area). Gas depends on your car. I had a stick shift that I only drove to work, it was about 80$ a month. My food bills because I'm vegan are cheap, again about 80$ a month. Then there's money you should put away, money for retirement, money for fun, travel, unforseen expenses...
It really matters how well you organize things.
totally depends on the area. I'm in San Jose, my apt is about $1700, utilities around $150, car ins is $106, cell phone $35 (I have a flip phone), internet/tv is about $80, gas is about $40 a week, food is about $150 a week for 2 of us. That amounts to about $2841 for the month.
All depends on your spending habits, mine are ridiculously low (don't even have a smartphone - shock, no car payment) and despite a modest paying job, end up investing/saving/paying down debt with about 40% of my take home.
Depends on where they live
I need much less in Waco, Texas then my friend does in Chicago to live the same lifestyle
family of two, both early 30s, i am the only provider,
take home is around $4.1k, that's ~ $65-70k annual gross
I could only manage to save about $25-30k cash a year
do i make enough? technically, yes
do i think it is enough? never
Anything less then $40,000 a year, you would start
to feel the pain of a low income
