Great eBay sales?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
For a month i have been having great sales on eBay. I sold few things for 200 dollars. Before i post a listing i look at a manufacture website and i look how much they sell that product for and i will sell my used product around 50 dollars less or little bit more. Most of the product is 5 years old or 8 years. I make every listing look really professional. Great pictures and great description. After my sales i decided to go on eBay and see how much people sell the same product that i sold. I was amazed that there are same product selling for way cheaper then what i sold for. Ive sold this OEM radio for 200 dollars and there are other people selling it for 100 dollars less. There listing look really bad thought. Why are people buying from me when they can have a way better deal. Is it because people are lazy to research to find a good deal on the internet or is it because i have a 100 percent feedback with really good pictures. I sold this home theater for 100 dollars used without a sub woofer but you can buy brand new system with subwoofer for pretty much the same price. What can be the reason why people are buying from me.

You've discovered that price is far from being the only factor in the buying decision. Especially if you're selling gadgets that are supposed to do something, trust is high on the buyer's list of priorities. Buyers absolutely will pay more to buy from someone who appears to be professional and trustworthy than someone who spent two minutes taking pics with their phone and writing a three-word description.

In addition, buyers may not have seen the other listings. The description can be searched in search engines, so listings with short descriptions are far less likely to be found than listings with detailed descriptions.

In addition, success on eBay breeds success. eBay's Cassini search engine prioritizes sellers who make more sales and have better seller performance higher in the Best Match search, which is the default -- leading to more sales.

"Why are people buying from me when they can have a way better deal."

In the buyer's mind, she is getting a better deal from YOU. There is a psychology to the entire buying experience. The buyer PERCEIVES that she will have a better overall experience with you than with your competitors. In fact, your higher price is probably part of what is driving that perception. The higher price means a higher VALUE in the buyer's mind. You really should read up on this.

Anyway, keep doing what you're doing.

Hello

It can depend on how you advertise it, Most will post a 99P start because it is free to post it. This will be a Bidding advert. You may be paying for your adverts and that may include Buy it now Price. So some may be wanting to buy not wait up to 7 days to see if they win it.

And yes a 100 % FeedBack with a good number of items sold will help sell things

Enjoy what is working for you for the brief time it will last. Ebay is systematically eliminating tens of thousands of small sellers through the new Defect rate, the existing DSR system, Guardrail, and trending in the efforts of the soon-to-be-leaving CEO John Donahoe's flawed attempt to transform eBay AWAY from the small "mom and pop" sellers who built it and OVER to the big box retailers and Chinese sellers.

Thats they way ebay works.

There's nothing like blowing your own horn. Or as they say, self-praise is no praise at all.
