If you are doing the same work for 8 years without changing why would wages change?
Sometimes you have to ask for a raise. If you know that your associates are making 50 cents an hour more, you ask the boss for a raise of 60 cents an hour, for example. Also, you need to start applying to other jobs, beyond minimum wage, to use your 8 years of experience to your advantage. Think about getting more education so that you can also use that to your resume advantage along with your 8 years of experience.
S0? If, after 8 years, you've done nothing to show them you're worth more than minimum wage, whose fault is that?
Get some qualifications? Change jobs? Work harder? Your future is in your own hands.
You're a real go getter. Hang in there, $10 an hour will come at the 15 year mark.
Idk I operate the most exspensive piece of equipment the company owns AR5 $60000.oo mower around a 27 hole pga rated private golf course .I'm always keepin up on greasing and checking everything , I can't work any harder or better , its a small community with little options and I,m here to stay for now but I'm losing all intrist in working for this company
You've had eight years to find another job.
Eight years.
Even Walmart pays better than that, and they'll pretty much hire anything that can pass a drug test and a background check.
I had a job like that once, I never complained about not getting paid more, because it wasn't a job that one gets paid a lot to do......and I LOVED the job.
Once a new owner took over, and then refused to pay wages at all, I quit.
Min wage cannot support life, call al sharpton
My advice, is to look for opportunities. Free training offered by your company, make connections, talk to people. Take courses or certificate programs. You could even do online. Add some kick to your resume.
Most states have no laws protecting workers against this. Vote for people who would promote workers' rights, not those that strip unions of power.
