Can my boyfriend and I share a bank account?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
My boyfriend is 18 and I am 17. He has a bank account but I'm not legally aloud to have my own because I'm not 18 so we wanted to share one. Can we without my parents consent? He has Bank of America.

That would be a bad idea. Get your own bank account and get your parents to sign. Sharing a bank account with an 18 year old is a dumb idea for the most part.

I had a bank account when I was 10. Why can't you have one?

That is a horrible idea at your age. Say you deposit $2000 into a joint account and you break up. Your boyfriend owns the money as much as you do and he can drain the account, legally.

My advice - don't do it.

Not until you learn how to spell ALLOWED - ... and then wait until you are 18 and get your own account.

If you must have a bank account now, get a trusted friend or relative to be the co-owner (NOT your bf).

Get your own .boyfriends come and go .you might think he is the one but things change fast at your age .and he can walk with your money and there is nothing you can do about it .even married couples should have their iwn accounts

not a good idea. you would lose your money as you don't have rights to withdraw the money.

relationships can go sour, so wait til your 18 to open your own without anyone's name on it but your own

Better not. There may be a lot of trouble later.

Yes, but it's stupid, don't do it, jeep your banking separate.

REALLY bad idea.
