If you are an Amazon customer residing in the Greater Los Angeles area or New York metropolitan areas, you already know you do not need Amazon Prime service to have an ordered item delivered on Sunday. This November 2013 Los Angeles Times news story describes the agreement between the United States Postal Service (USPS) and Amazon to begin at no extra charge delivery of Amazon packages on Sundays to customers in certain areas of the country.

You do not have to be a Prime member. Remember it is an estimated deliver date, a package may come a day before or later, it just happens to land on a Sunday.
Amazon is recently advertising they deliver on Sunday which would have to be special delivery by the USPS and would cost more postage to do so
