i know it will not benefit me much to buy grocery from someone else's shop and deliver them to my customer but a little innovation in this idea can increase my earnings.
my business model is very simple and like this.
1. customer will contact me
2. he/she will tell me about all the grocery items and their quantities
3. i will purchase all those items from a shop which i have tied up with
4. now finally i will deliver those items to the customer for a small fee which i will charge
and yes i will have my pre calculated area radius also.
any innovation or beneficial change will be greatly appreciated.
thanks.
Have you been in a supermarket lately? in any one category of food there are many, many variations. Like, there is orange juice with calcium, with no pulp, with a little pulp...and people are very fussy about food. if you provide the customer with variation x and they prefer variation y, people will quickly get angry at you. on peapod the customer orders online from a website listing specific items and sizes. If that is not practical you would need to figure out how to manage their expectations. hope this helps.
Waste of time. Too small of a profit and too much hassle. How would people trust you didn't tamper with their food? You could be held liable if they got sick. You would need license, insurance etc. Have to track expenses for taxes etc. To pick up someone's $100 groceries? The wear and tear, mileage etc.would cost you more later on. More oil changes, tires etc.
Just not worth it.
Try again
How about packing them like flowers and selling them as gifts for dear friends .
Good luck with that. It's already being done by the big supermarkets and Amazon.
Might want to think more along the lines of a concierge service - i.e. groceries, dry cleaning, walk the dog, mow the lawn, etc.
