When airports and roads are closed due to weather (for example), it's unrealistic to believe that your particular package is going to magically appear on time.
I recently had a "second day" FedEx package arrive after 10 days with no apologies for failing to update the online status for 7 days. I have had FedEx leave my packages at an entirely wrong address, or not even attempt to deliver them and then falsely claim "attempted delivery" when we had three people waiting, with video surveillance of the gates showing NOBODY had tried to deliver anything that entire day.
I avoid buying things from companies that ship via FedEx and we are much more pleased with UPS and their drivers and customer service.
They all have things to be desired about.
I recently had a problem with FedEx because everything has to go through their Memphis hub.
It was an overnight package from Los Angeles to NYC. I would bet that FedEx can fill a few planes for this route.
- So I send it = LA has no weather problems and on that day NYC didn't.
- but guess what, it gets stuck in Memphis
- and then it gets to stay in Memphis longer because there is now a storm in NYC.
** wouldn't it have just be tons better if they tracked the weather and at least this once, forgot that the package had to stop in Memphis.
I ship a lot of stuff with UPS, Fedex, and USPS. They all fail at some point and for various reasons. Unfortunately I have learned that everything is fine until there is a slight hiccup and then you go into customer service twilight zone. Stay strong in knowing they are not singling you out.

there was different weather for fedex then there is for ups
