This is my very first job! Please help!
You've applied and have been for the most part accepted. Wear whatever it is they told you to wear on the job. At first, you'll probably just be following people around. Every chain like that has different management across their fast food establishments with only a handful of ground rules the manager must follow. That means it's hard to tell, because your manager might be different than the Arby's manager where I live. In any case, wear the outfit that they said you should wear when you're on the serving side of the building or on the the customer side of the counter doing menial tasks like cleaning unless they specifically tell you not to.
(This really goes with any career anywhere) If you care about succeeding you should show up wearing something professional (casual but professional). I know with guys this could be a nice polo with khakis and girls I'm not going to even venture a guess.
They will probably walk you through their store policies, rules, expectations from you, and give you a walk through of the entire store and give you a visual of responsibilities. This would also be a good time to think of some questions to ask them. Good luck!
Use common sense. I mean really they aren't going to shoot you for wearing the shirt and what else would you do but go up to someone and say you were there for orientation?
Wear the uniform. When you arrive, approach the first member of staff you see smile and say something like " Hi. I'm XXX. I am here for orientation."
Yes, go up to the counter and tell someone you're there for orientation. Yes wear your uniform.
Yes, wear the T-shirt uniform they discussed .
