Do people sell inactive gift cards on ebay?

I am going to buy a $100 gift card on ebay soon but I am a little skeptical. There are no returns accepted. I'm just worried the card has been used up or was never activated by a cashier in the first place.

It will be a birthday gift to someone special so it'd be very embarrassing if it did not work. If it ended up not being activated, etc. could I contact ebay and get my money back even though the seller opted out of returns?

You should be protected by ebay buyer protection. However, I would be skeptical about making the purchase. I just go to basically any store to buy one.

if you buy using PayPal you are protected as much as possible.

I buy and sell on ebay all of the time, im going to disagree with all these people. the reason people sell gift cards for less than the value is because they either don't want the card and would rather have the cash or, they don't shop or cant shop at the stores the card is for. Ebay has safeguards for buyers and if by chance you get one that is fake, you can get your money back. Ive never hd any problems though ive sold gift cards on ebay myself..for the same reason, id rather have the cash.

Don't buy gift cards on eBay. Why would anyone sell them on eBay other than fakes or used? To get less money than they should.

I would not buy a gift card on e bay like this. My questions would be why is someone selling a card for say $75.00 when they can use it for $100 or why would you buy it for say $120 when you can buy one for $100. Something does not sound right here.

1/ I would never buya gift card on eBay, personally.

2/ Check it immediately after you receive it. If it doesn't work eBay you can open a case through eBay as a falsely advertised item and get your money back.

I wouldn't trust someone selling a gift card on ebay. Ever.
