I did look and didn't get very clear answers to my specific questions. Thank you though
I am considering turning a hobby into a business. I don't have a business license yet. I want to dip my feet into the market before I commit to being a business. To produce more products I will need to buy some more equipment. In order to claim these things I need against my taxes as a business expense so I need to have my business license first? Or can I purchase these things and get my license later as long as it's in the same tax year.
Lets say I want to buy a Kiln and I buy it in January but I don't get my business license until June. If it's all in the same taxable year does it matter which order I got my equipment and license?
Also, we move states every 2-4 years because of my spouses employment. Does anyone know what the process is for changing states with a business license? Do you just apply for a new one in the new state or does it transfer?
