For a United States transport business would you need any kind of license or permits? This may seem like a weird question but I know with opening up a traditional business there can be some unknown costs for licenses or something so before I make this a real consideration I just want to know if anyone has some information on the topic.

I don't want to get into the specifics of the business but under normal State laws I won't need any kind of transporting license but for some I know there will be, this is not the one I'm worried about, I'm thinking more about special licenses for some kind of insurance or something like that.
