so i am currently 17 years old, and graduating a semester early this year. i am trying to think more about my future, and am really hoping to open a local store, selling jewelry, doing appraisals, repairing watches etc. like the place i am working at now :) i have the knowledge on watches and know the 4 c's and understand most things about diamonds but to do so i would still need to be a graduate gemologist to grade the stones and give appraisals. i am really hoping to get into GIA (which is where my current boss went) problem is... it would cost me over $33 000, i have been saving and my parents have some money put aside, but it still only comes to about $19 000.
my question is, do i have to be already enrolled at the university? or can i use it before hand to know if i will have the money for it or not? :s sorry if its a stupid question
