Job centre but got a job?

Posted at: 2014-12-08
Miggy is wrong: You MUST tell the Jobcentre that you've got a job to start in January, but you will NOT be paid JSA right up to when you receive your first wage; JSA is only payable up to and including the day before you start work. Tell them the date you will be starting work; payments over the Christmas period will be sent out in advance, but you need to continue signing on until you start work or are told that you are excused because of Christmas. If you do not tell them when you expect to start work, you may end up being overpaid, and may end up having to pay some money back.

You need to keep claiming JSA until the date your job starts and continue to look at other possible temporary jobs until then. Notify the Jobcentre you have a possible start date of xxx Jan 2013.

Your JSA will keep being paid as long as you keep doing what you've been doing so far. At interview you just tell them you are starting a job in January but need work until then. When you move to the other location you'll need to transfer your claim, it's better to do that a few weeks before you start work or it'll cause problems getting your final payment.

Just call them the day you start work and close your claim.

you can claim JSA upto the day before you start a new job. If you tell them now and give them the start date for your new job you will receive benifits upto the day before you start work.

You should tell them, they will carry on paying you until you get your first wage. You may also be able to get some help with expenses. Why don't you ring them and ask?

i claim job seekers money from the job centre , yesterday i got a job in which i will have to move across the country for , which i not mind , and it does not start till this time in january.

Do i tell the job centre or not , if i did would i loose my job seekers , or would they help me .

i do not know what i should do with this

When i start the job i will stop the job seekers
