You can show your interest in the position offered and long term commitment to the company by stating your willingness to learn and inquiring about growth opportunities.

A shop assistant is a shop assistant whether it be in Burberry or B&Q

Hello I just want some advice. I currently work for Burberry in their flagship store in London on their Ladieswear department.

I am a mature 36 years although I don't look it and decided to take a new career direction. Having just graduated the summer from my degree with a BA Hons in Fashion Promotion. However having had some office, customer service experience I have been in luxury retail now (during my degree) for 3 years (working at Harrods and Jo Malone) and I wish to get into PR or events, something more office based but with the potential to do different things.

I have tried interning for office fashion roles but whether it's my age and the fact they want you usually to do it for free I haven't really had anything. I know I could do the job.

Longterm I want my own business but in the meantime it has been a while since I have had an office based role although I did do some at Jo Malone

Anyway I have been offered a Showroom position at head office which still means retail but is there any potential to move or be promoted? I want to ask this in my second interview but I don't want to appear as though I am not committed to the role being offered. Please advise.

Thank y
