Is the US getting close to a new depression?

Posted at: 2014-12-08
I've heard on news that money is becoming worthless, and a second depression is about to fall on us. Could you explain?

Of course it's becoming worthless, but it's been becoming worthless since we gave up the gold standard in the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, inflation will keep going up and the value of the currency in the US has been going down. The federal reserve has been loaning the US government money at interest since then. Obviously, it's impossible to pay off that interest because all of our money costs more interest! So the value of the currency will go nowhere but down.

I heard the stock market was going to crash soon and then the dollar would be worthless, I kind of believe it because there a rich people who are spending a lot of their money on gold. We are in like a 16 trillion debt right now

That's not going to happen. Our money has technically been worthless ever since they took the gold standard off of the dollar.

Its not called a Depression we were in a Recession. And no we should be ok The stock market is alot better than it was some years back. We will be ok

That's in the old days. No depression can fall on us because we have Prozac today.

Everything is going to be fine. Invest in things that make you money and don't buy things that cost you money.

yes we are. you will see a lot of desperate people soon. I already see a big rise in people on the street without jobs, homes, money.

We are in one. No one in government wants to acknowledge it.

yes vote no for obama
