Hi everyone, i want to get into the used car business. something that i can do on the side while i finish part time college. i have some experiences. There's several places where i advertise it and i know a few people that sale cars full time for other people (they price it slightly more than the org. price and they sale it quickly). They have clientele and a reputation, i done great business with them. i usually do it on my own just to gain a little more profit. i average 1-2 cars a month (only because I'm not speeding anything up) and i want to start selling three maybe four cars a month. i going to apply for a retail dealer's license, to do it legitimately specially that i have already passed the five cars per year mark. Now, for applying a dealers license, it says i need a office space and a lot. which it would only make it a full time job for me because now i would have to sell more just to keep up with the rent and bills/ cost and the profit i would like to earn. I talk to several people and the advice i got is that i could possibly work under someones else private dealership/insurance, legal work and rent a lot space from them. i have to pay a monthly rate of course. i would still have to get my license but do you think its possible? working like that, under someone's legal works, legitimately? if no, is there another way around without requiring a office and lot myself? thank you in advance i'm going to keep on doing my research
