Could you do without paper checks -Online bill pay only?

I could, but I choose not to.

Some of the bills I pay each month charge a 'convenience fee' of $3 to pay on line. Since I pay by check, I am saving about $7.50 a month or $90 a year by paying them with paper checks.

I am also seeing some sellers on eBay and elsewhere are now offering discounts of 2 or 3% for paying by check vice debit or credit card, because they avoid the fees that Visa and Master Card charge for accepting cards.

I've only used cheques a few times in my life, and that was to pay my roommates money so they could pay the full rent.

Otherwise, my pay cheque is automatically deposited into my bank account, and I pay literally every bill I have online.

For the guy who mows my lawn, barber, etc. (although also accepting cash, check payment is safer and more convenient.) Paying **** house taxes, automatic or bill-payment not accepted, no credit cards. For many, the rent. For many, initial deposit to open any kind of financial account in a new institution., new utility connection, many types of moving expenses.

I don't know anyone that uses cheques.

In fact, I think were withdrawn/abolished years ago
