Can you negotiate prices at furniture stores?

The average markup on furniture is 100% and some

stores as much as 300%. You must bargain the price

down or you will be paying to much. Start at offering

half the price and if you feel the deal is no good, start

to walk out. I bet they will then give you a price more

to your liking.

Almost every consumer-advice website says that you can. The salespeople are not shocked if you offer less. Their most common response is that they will pay your sales tax.... which saves you 8-10%. If the item is already on sale, you might have to pay that full price.

I think you can negotiate sale tax and delivery

yes you can

Let's say theres a dining room set for $499 at ashley furniture, the room place, or value city. Can I negotiate the price to be lower or make them throw in something extra for the price?
