Well last night I caught what she had but I had diarrhea and my stomach hurted bad. I couldn't even stand up I was so weak. I had head cold symptoms as well and I'm not trying to be gross but I'm trying to get my point across and be specific.
I took medicine at the house and thought I would feel better in the morning but ended up not feeling better so 3 hours before work I called my manager and said:
Me: hello this is Celia is there a manager
Her: this is her
Me: oh, well I caught something my sister had and I'm not feeling any better.
Her: okay what time do you work today?
Me: one
Her: okay we'll find someone to take your shift.
Me: okay thanks
Her: no problem , can you bring in a doctors note?
Me: um I'll see if I can
Her: okay great , bye
And then I said bye and left. I started working at McDonald's in November so I'm fairly new. This is the first time I've ever called in sick. My mom said she isn't taking me to the doctors so I won't have a doctors note. So if I go to work and they ask I'm just going to tell her how I got sick, the symptoms I had and how my mom said she wasn't taking me. Will I get fired? I'm always on time, always 20 minutes early, I do my job well, I don't want to get in trouble.
She sorta sounded like she didnt believe me but I never work with her so I doubt I'll see her.I got work tomorrow so I don't want to be sick.
You only need a doctors note if you're off sick for more than 5 days. Doctors won't usually write you a note for just one day, it has to be that you've been off for more than a week too.
Usually if companies want validation for your sickness they will have a sick form you fill in if you've been off for only a day or two.
This is all national protocol so don't let them scare you by thinking you need a docs note for one day off! Stand your ground&good luck
It depends how many times you go sick. If you have a Doctors note saying you are sick , You won't have a problem.
