Why are more Kmart stores closing?

Okay, here in Fort Wayne, there was a time when there were 4 Kmart stores were here. Two of them closed in 2002 I believe (I was very young when those two closed, so not sure exactly what year it was) then another one closed this past January, and now, sadly the last Kmart store in the city is closing this December. why has Kmart closed so many stores around the country already and still closing even more stores?

Because Sears (the parent company) has run both its own stores and Kmart into the ground. Decades of bad management.

could be an alliance using another name for other forthcoming retail outlets under a different or same umbrella, reduction of retail outlets influenced by internet activities as well as overheads etc. i'm not familiar with the brand you mention specifically but realise the freedom of information and gnu have significant effects on trading worldwide - not simply accounting standards.

Compare the prices of goods in retail stores to the likes of Amazon, Newegg, and Iherb. People are shifting away from consumerism and getting smarter financially. We want to save, invest so that our children may live better lives. New generation--get used to it.

Simple - the company is not making money and is closing unprofitable stores to try to get back into the black.

Target & Walmart are running them out of business
