Depends on the price of the product at the moment, lets say the product is $100 but $50 off means you only need to pay $50 but if it's %40 off you still pay 60$

If the price is 1000$ and 50$ off, you pay 950$ but if it's 40% off you only pay 600$

so as i said it depends on the price of the product

If the item costs more than $125, 40% off is a better deal. If it costs less than $125, $50 off is a better deal. If it costs exactly $125, there's no difference.
