Maybe because you are acting like a brat. He salary may have gone up but until she has it a while it isn't time to spend it and since you didn't earn it she decides how she spends her money. She may prefer to pay off debts or save for her future instead of stopping you from whining.

she JUST became partner - that doesn't mean this weeks paycheck will be $50,000 higher than last weeks - she might see no pay increase any time soon - partners might get bonuses IF the company does well, but that might be 12-15 months from now
as a partner, she would share in the profits OR losses of the firm; if the firm is a large one, like Price Waterhouse, a partner would make a substantial amount of money. for a smaller firm, not necessarily much
