First of all your husband should have gotten an appointment with Consumer Credit Counseling (a free debt organizational place by the government) and then if his and your income together couldn't pay all your bills and the CCC wasn't able to reduce the interest appropriately, and you both owed over $65,000 only then would an attorney suggest that you file for bankruptcy. Now your husband could have called the County Bar Association and asked that they provide the names of the bankruptcy attorneys in your area and then you'd go down and talk to them and they'd start the bankruptcy for you. There is an American Bar Association online with the names of attorneys permitted to appear in front of judges and it lists their specialty. Know that ALL those who do bankruptcy work with the Federal courts and can help you and your husband since bankruptcy is one of the easiest specialties an attorney could do.
Consider it a SCAM and stop all dealings with these people. For a reputable & licensed bankruptcy attorney, check with the Bar Association in your city for a referral. Anyone who claims to be a practicing attorney should be able to give you a license # for verification with the bar association. As for "debt relief" , this too is a scam.
Are you joking? This is 1000% a scam. Do not send this person any money and stop all contact with them immediately.
I'd be VERY skeptical
