I have no passport, or drivers license, and these would take too long to come through were I to apply.
I do however have a student ID card, my birth certificate, and some other bits and bobs.
I have no bills in my name so can't use them but does anyone know any banks where I can use the above as forms of ID?
Thanks.
everybody starts a bank account sometime. you could see if opening with a parent will help, especially if it's at the same bank as them. you may get better financing as well since you have little credit history. if you can't get it on your own, you may need one of your parents to co-sign or do a joint checking and savings. then in a couple years, when you show you either get a job and get income, or have some other means to pay off bills, you can make it your own.
good luck.
Banks are usually well set up for students needing to open accounts and if you go to, or call the bank of your choice and explain why you need an account, they will accommodate you, I'm sure, and tell you what you'll need to bring in.
A drivers license takes one day, how hard it that? Try a local (non-national bank) and see if they will accept your BC and student ID
go to bmv and get a state id if you have no d.l.. banks will demand one or the other.
