how can I get help with amazon?

For some reason my question format for this question displayed by yahoo wouldn't let me elaborate.

My problem is I have been accorded an ebook as a promotional offer by a company I deal with. They have arranged that the free (to me) book is delivered by Amazon. I do not have nor do I wish to buy a kindle. That means that they will be compensated by the company making the offer not me. I have not ever paid for a kindle product in the past nor will be for this particular transaction.

I have an account with Amazon in the sense that they have my contact information and know who I am when I go to their site. In the past, I have put books on a their wish list option and that has established a sort of account.

I have a p.c. that I want to download an ebook to. I personally am not paying for the ebook. I don't have any amazon purchase history that I can tie my help request to. I don't have the standard need to download to a kindle or competing tablet for which help is available. Most help queries that I send to Amazon take me to offers to sell me ebooks that will help with Amazon as well as a lot of other things. Even if I wanted that ebooks to help me with buying them I can't because that is what I want help with arranging to get an ebook to my pc without a prior history with Amazon. The chat option and all the help options I have found on amazon that are supposed to deal with unusual situations all need a prior account to use. They assume I am existing customer. I can't become an existing customer until they tell me how to do so using my current window 7 chrome browser.

There is a chat option on their contact us page. I have used it before. The contact us page is hard to find. It might be under your account page.
