can walmart assault me?!?

My friends and I were going through self checkout as usual with a "venom" energy drink. After purchasing it, I tucked the receipt in my pocket and we started walking through the front doors when the receipt checker said, "can i check your receipt?" being an avid consumerist, i know i dont have to show proof of purchase once I buy my items, so i said, "No, i dont have to show it." he then tried to catch me and grabbed and scratched my arm. Frightened, I yelled, "hey, You cant touch me!" and he replied, "I'll touch you, ill slap you across the face and do whatever i have to!" frightened, i said, I want to talk to your manager!" and he said, "ok, come with me!" and i said, "no, i'll stay here, and you get your manager." He said no, i wont. and soon after left." a witness next to me said that I should go get the manager myself, so I did. The manager said that i was free to fill out a report, but he cant really control what his employees do, and he was going to "try" to address it. and by the way, I have the whole thing on film, my friend recorded the whole incident with the employee, and i have pictures of my arm. Can walmart threaten and touch me? what should I do? i told my school's officer but he said he was within his rights, which i find very hard to believe. HELP?!?!

P.S. I'm sixteen years old, I dont know if that changes anything.

" being an avid consumerist, i know i dont have to show proof of purchase once I buy my items....."

No, you are incorrect. You were being an avid *** and a belligerent snotty brat.

And I would recommend not posting the video. Walmart will have every right to go after you, your friend and your parents through the legal system. The next video might be your family living in a tent down by the river.

While the employee shouldn't have maybe said some of the things he said. They have every right to ask for a receipt and can use a certain amount of force if you are refusing to cooperate. You would have saved yourself a lot of trouble if you just showed the receipt. It is their right and job to ask for a receipt. They don't have to let you leave with the items if you can't produce proof that you paid for them

You created the situation by being a typical punk 16 year old. And FYI....you DO have to show them a receipt if you are on their property still. Your own ignorance got into this whole mess. Next time, don't be such an idiot.

They can only ask you can refuse, they could call the cops. I've done this, 2 miles down the road the cop asked to see my reciept, but I didnt break any laws so there is nothing they can do.

You are wrong.

There is a legal term called "Shopkeeper's Privilege." Look it up. A business is allowed to detain potential shoplifters and they are allowed to use "reasonable force" to do it while they conduct their investigation.

Take your dad with you and Beat the **** out of that douchebag.
