What do you think of this guy?

There's an inventor with 30,000 patents which are all real, important inventions used by society. Tell me based on this report.

What do you think of him? Whats he like? Where does he rank amongst the worlds greatest ever people? Would you date me?

You do not need to be "a genius" to have patented inventions. Look at Thomas Edison. He made a lot of money by stealing other people's ideas and patenting their inventions before they could. All of his so-called "light-bulb" patents were ruled invalid because of fraud upon the patent office.

Owning 30,000 different patents could mean there were as few as 200 "different" inventions, patented in 150 different countries, and many of the "differences" might not be patentably distinct, meaning they were issued but terminate at the same time as earlier patents on the related invention.

Having 200 inventions to your name is not all that unusual.

Could we live without most of today's gadgets? Yes. Could we live without money? Yes. Could we live without owning anything? Yes. Do I care about what this big dog did in this rat race? No. Am I just living in this society because I was born into it? Yes. Do I think it's a terrible way of life? Yes. Are you, the reader thinking that I'm wackadonk? Probably.

Anyway, to answer your questions, here goes.

a) What do I think of him? I think he's a dude who is probably a genius, and who has greatly influenced our way of living.

b) What's he like? How would I know? I haven't met him. He's probably old, most famous people who aren't celebrities are old.

c) Where does he rank among the world's greatest ever people? (your grammar is killing me) How about the world's most famous people? I'll bet he's famous, or at least he should be. Someone who has affected our way of living to such an extent should be at least as famous as that fugly twit Justin Bieber.

No, I knew an inventor once, he wasn't all together sane so I wouldn't want to know another. If he was sane he would be a total nerd never seeing the light of day.

who is it? did any of the patents actually become REAL USEFUL AFFORDABLE PRODUCTS?
