Target and K-Mart are separate companies. K-Mart belongs to Sears Holding, while Target is Target Corporation. Target is doing better than K-Mart, so the morale and company culture may be better at Target. I also heard that Target treats their employees better.
K-Mart has more variety in stock. Target specializes in more of a clothing range. Target is viewed has a middle class shop, whereas K-Mart is a sort of working-class shop. Both are owned by the same company so you may be able to flow between them if you become good enough. Anyway, the choice is yours, hopefully the info I shared helps
I would think Target has a lot more cache than K-Mart. K-Mart is a sh*thole.
Since these are both retailer, look at which store you would shop at more and could save with the company discount. Also, do you live with anyone that might appreciate being able to use the discount, family to roommates.
