Online friend wants to send me a care package?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I live in the UK he lives in the US. How do I do this safely? I do trust him but I don't want to give him my address? Is it possible for him to send it to a post office and have me pick it up from there?

You would still need to provide an address, I'm not sure how the UK does it, but in the US the post office will hold a package for you but it has to have your address on it. If you can find someone with a post office box that you can use, just use their address. I would repost this in the Business section, and ask those users.

Just tell him you don't want a gift. If you don't want to give someone your address, you don't need gifts from him. Stick with your local men because these unknown internet "men" can be anything and lots of it can be bad. Think, why does this person need to communicate with a girl 1000's of miles away when there are millions of girls right here in the USA.

Yes, in the UK you can have a parcel sent to the nearest Post Office to where you live. You will have to provide I.D to collect it.

Your friend needs to address it to your name c/o XYZ Post Office, and the address of that branch of the Post Office.

If really paranoid, get a commercial post box. If you aren't comfortable giving out your address, ask yourself if you really are a friend or need this package.

do they have PO boxes you rent?
