Entrepreneur question?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
Do entrepreneurs actually work in the business or do they create it and hire staff to do the working while they take care of the business part? Example) an entrepreneur starts an indoor school supply manufacturing company. Do they hire engineers to design the products (desks, white boards ect..) how does it work exactly?

its a sketchy definition. I remember Richard Branson (owns virgin) saying. An entrepreneur owns the business he dose not work within it. What he means is typically an entrepreneur will buy a loss making business and with his expertise turn it into a profitable business. he then appoints some one to run the business in his interests and moves on to the next. Alternatively and probably more common is after the business is made profitable the entrepreneur sells it and uses that to buy the next.

it depends on the nature of the business & what the entrepreneur is qualified to do.

example: I grew up in beauty salons, I know how to run a beauty salon, I know how to market a business, I know how to manage a business, I know how to handle staff, however I am not qualified to work with hair or to perform any of the services a beauty salon or spa might provide. If I were to open a beauty salon or spa then I would run the business but hire people who are qualified to perform the services the salon or spa offers.

Entrepreneurs can do both but usually towards the end of their involvement in their business they will have more of a hands off role. I would recommend that you read lots of profiles of famous entrepreneurs that shows the many different routes entrepreneurs can take, see http://www.topbusinessentrepreneurs.com.

Entrepreneurs take over the business part. Entrepreneurship is a business degree in college's. They learn about capturing markets and finding opportunities, management, marketing, growing the business, enterprise architecture, and economics.

Industrial Design is the major and Industrial Designer is the job associated with designing products in terms of looks and usability. (exterior and interior aesthetics, human factors & ergonomics).

Industrial Engineering is the major and job related to designing products based on making them manufacturable, easy to assemble, easy to package, and they also overlap with Industrial Design in the human factors and ergonomics part of design.

Electrical Engineering is the major associated with designing electronic components. Sensors, signals, printer circuit boards, and more.

Mechanical Engineering is the major and job related to designing mechanical components to meet customer requirements. They use their knowledge of heat, stress, tension, torsion, strain, and material science to design mechanical parts like gears, brackets, bolts, nuts, washers, pipis, fittings, and more.

Sam Walton created WalMart and worked more hours than any two others. Did he stock shelves? In the beginning he did.

Did hr run registers? If he saw z need he did and then worked with management to find a solution.

both, neither, and all - an entrepeneur will do what is necessary to get his business successful: if that means spending a night or two self teaching himself how to design desks and white boards then so be it.
