Ebay/Paypal have ruined my business?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I sell mostly vinyl records sports cards etc. My ratings have always been stellar. I've sold the past two years and its how I eat in this economy. They have "frozen" my acct multiple times and every time I call and ask for an explanation they play pass it on to the next liar in India. They have ruined me financially. They actually said if I sign off they would pay me etc after weeks of back and forth. So i did. Not only was I ever paid, they billed me! I've had thousands of transactions 98%+ positive. I don't know what to do. This has been dragging on for months and months. So a year later I open a new seller acct etc have hundreds of listings and 100% positive feedback and as soon as I started selling multiple items a day they try and link me to accounts I have nothing to do with. So now again my merchandise livelyhood and money is gone despite receiving nothing but positive feedback. What can I do?

There is more to this story that we are reading. Why did eBay freeze your account in the past? There is a reason and we, as people trying to help, aren't getting the full story. Why was your account frozen several times?

One thing we can help you with is this - you can't just open another selling account and go on. eBay and PayPal are not ruining your business. You, or someone using your account is.

It seems that like many you have put all your eggs in one basket. When something goes wrong with that basket your business is destroyed. Companies diversify for a reason.

As to what you can do the information you offered is too sketchy to even suggest a solution. eBay may have linked your new account to your old one and determined that the old one was questionable. Perhaps they have or had requested your source of merchandise as is sometimes done to insure you aren't selling stolen goods, perhaps they linked your name to another sellers name/account, perhaps they linked your IP address to another seller..... The list goes on.

I'm an ebay buyer not a seller so I can't answer you. But at least I didn't want you to think you are being ignored.I wish I knew. I would give you an opinion. I do know Ebay and Paypal are strict with both buyers and sellers. And for that reason, they have a very good reputation.

No they did not. They froze your account for a reason. And opening a new account is not allowed until you resolved your issues. Any account that is linked to you will be shut down. You are basically done with EBay. Time to look somewhere else to do your business.

EBay is a business, they allowed you to make a business out of their service. Follow there terms and policy and there should be no problems.
