I like Costco better. You have to pay to belong, which I don't like especially, but the store is run better. Wal Mart has a bigger selection but the stuff Costco carries is better. Costco treats its employees better (and gets better employees, I think, or at least more committed, more eager to do their job.) The Wal Mart where I go (sometimes) always has a lot of stock on the floor and the shelves look like they need to be tidied up. Costco just looks better.
Better - for what? Walmart has cheaper prices. Costco treats their employees better.
It depends how many people you are shopping for and what you are shopping for. Produce and dairy products are good at both places, but only get produce and dairy products (or anything that expires quickly) at Costco if you are shopping for four or more people, otherwise, you are buying too much and will end up wasting it. Anything else you want to buy in bulk is great at Costco, but the prices are higher because the portions are bigger. It is expensive on the spot, but in the long run it will save you money.
